ACTOR BK SHANKER DIED OF JAUNDICE!

Well known comedy actor of over 200 films BK Shanker who figured in almost all the heroes of Kannada cinema died on Friday in his native place Gadag. Aged 55 plus BK Shanker a veteran in comedy roles using the Hubli-Dharwad accent of Kannada beautifully in his films suffered from Jaundice. He has not noticed his disease is the main cause of death.

 

BK Shanker leaves behind his wife, a son and three daughters. Shanker evinced interest in theatre activity from school days. When was 18 years he joined the theatre group at gate keeper. He later showed interest in make up division and lent the tools in the make up division. He was picked to play the female roles in his young age on stage. Later he was recognized for his wit and humor. In the films like Ganeshala Galate, Ganesha Subramanya, Gowri Ganesha etc Shanker was recognized for his style of Kannada dialogue.

 

In the Gururaja Kate film ‘Sanchari’ Shanker appeared before the camera for the first time to big screen but his first release was ‘Attege Thakka Sose’ of Ankalagi. From 1980’s onwards Shanker became a part and parcel of Kannada cinema.

 

The cremation of the actor will take place on Saturday in his home town Gadag. www.chitratara.com condole the death of veteran actor.
